Our Learning Approach

At Elimatta Early Learning & Kindergarten, our educational program is guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0.We deliver a play-based and inquiry-based approach to learning, recognising that children learn best when they are actively engaged, curious and involved in meaningful experiences.Through play, children explore ideas, build relationships, experiment with materials and develop an understanding of the world around them. Learning is purposeful and responsive, supporting each child’s interests, strengths and stage of development. Our educators use intentional teaching strategies to extend learning by:

  • observing and responding to children’s interests
  • planning meaningful and engaging experiences
  • guiding exploration through thoughtful interactions and questioning
  • supporting children to think, investigate and problem-solve

Our learning environments are carefully designed to promote:

  • curiosity and exploration
  • independence and confidence
  • creativity and critical thinking
  • social connection and collaboration

We value children as capable and active participants in their learning, supporting them to develop a strong sense of identity, wellbeing and belonging while building the foundations for lifelong learning.
